Dear Comrades and Friends,
we are very pleased to invite you to our next International Network of Social Clinics (INOSC) meeting, which will take place from June 4th to June 7th 2026 in Hamburg, Germany.
In times of increasing crisis and societal polarization, we are happy to continue our dialogue on society, health and resistance. International collaboration and exchange are now more important than ever.
We are very excited to be hosting you at the Gängeviertel, a neighborhood in Hamburg which has a rich history in social struggle (in 1898 a hotspot of the last major cholera epidemic in Europe, during the 1920s known as “Little Moscow” and more recently a prominent space within the Right to the City movement).
To help us prepare the program, accommodation, catering and meeting location, please register via the following link by early May: https://intern.geko-berlin.de/
The program is still a work in progress. But we agreed that this year our discussions will revolve around three interconnected key themes:
1. Militarization and war regimes
2. Dehumanization, repression and rising fascism
3. Healthcare provision in times of authoritarian neoliberalism and its relation to the welfare state
These themes reflect the current political moment in which our work is embedded. They point to the increasing pressures on our infrastructures, the shifting role of the state, and the growing challenges for building and sustaining practices of solidarity. The gathering will be a space to share experiences across contexts, deepen our collective understanding, and explore how social clinics and related initiatives can respond to these developments — both by defending existing structures and by building new ones.
We will begin on Thursday June 4th in the afternoon, with arrival possible from around 3:00 pm. An opening session or public event is planned for the evening. The meeting will conclude on Sunday, June 7th, in the early afternoon after a visit to the facilities of the Poliklinik Veddel and its surrounding port district as well as a harbor boat trip on the issue of health and history.
Further details on the exact program, accommodation, and organizational aspects will follow soon.
The INOSC meeting is a network gathering. Participation is open to individuals and groups who are actively involved in or connected to the International Network of Social Clinics. Please circulate the invitation to interested new groups.
If you have any questions concerning the meeting feel free to reach out: international@poliklinik1.org
We are very much looking forward to seeing you in Hamburg and continuing this important struggle for a better world together.
In solidarity,
Poliklinik Veddel
